In the ever-evolving world of construction and field services, keeping track of your tools and equipment is crucial. ShareMyToolbox is here to make that easier with our latest updates. Plus check out upcoming features designed to streamline your tool management process. Whether you’re an admin or a field employee, these enhancements ensure you have the right tools at the right time, all while maintaining accurate records. Let’s dive into the key areas where these improvements are making an impact.
1. Enhanced Permissions: Empowering Your Team
Admins & Deleting Items: Now, you can decide which Admins have Item delete privileges, and which don’t, giving you more control of your inventory.
Employees Add Items: We’ve also added the capability for permission to be set for Employee Connections to add Items directly. This feature is particularly useful if employees are allowed to purchase Items, ensuring that every tool is accounted for and reducing the risk of loss. Additionally, this is a great way to have your entire team help with the initial setup of the system.
2. Audit Enhancements: Simplifying Verification
View Item Record: One of our most requested features is here! Users can now view Item records directly from the Audit screen in the Web Portal. This enhancement saves time by allowing you to access detailed information about each Item without leaving the Audit screen.
Unconfirmed Items: Managing unconfirmed Items during Audits just got easier. Now, instead of exporting lists to Excel and manually searching for each Item, you can click on an unconfirmed Item to open its detail screen. From there, you can take action—whether that’s loaning, transferring, or returning the Item—without any extra steps.
Items Found: Our new “Items Found” feature adds a layer of accountability. If an employee scans an Item not included in the audit, it’s flagged and added to a new “Found” tab, which is reported to the Admin. This ensures nothing slips through the cracks and your inventory remains accurate.
3. Notes: Tracking Costs with Ease
Completed Cost Column: Keeping track of costs is vital in managing a tool inventory. We’ve added a new Completed Cost column in the Notes section, giving you a clear view of the financial impact of each Item, from acquisition to maintenance.
4. Upcoming Features: What to Expect Next
Item Due Back Date in Items Grid: To make it easier to manage tool returns, we’re adding the “Due Back” date to the Items grid. This will allow you to filter and sort by return dates, ensuring timely returns and reducing the risk of lost tools.
Costing History Column Selection: Customization is key, and soon, you’ll be able to select and order columns in the Costing History screen just like you can in the Items screen. This update will carry over to Excel exports, giving you the flexibility to manage your data your way.
Consumable Return: Typically, Consumables are sent to the field and used up. But sometimes you need to return Consumables to the warehouse and credit the job. Soon, you’ll be able to make the adjustment to the Loaned Item and properly adjust costing to reflect it.
Connections Import: Finally, setting up new employees will be faster and easier with our upcoming Connections Import feature. Import connections from Excel/CSV, saving you time and ensuring accuracy in your records.
